Building a High-Converting Homepage in Kajabi: A Step-by-Step Journey

Creating a homepage in Kajabi that not only looks good but also converts visitors into customers can feel like a daunting task. But don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step, just as we did during our webinar. Whether you’re new to Kajabi or just looking to refine your skills, this narrative will help you build a homepage that truly connects with your audience.
Starting with the Basics: Accessing Kajabi
We kicked things off by logging into Kajabi, where the journey to building a high-converting homepage begins. First, we navigated to the Website
section, selected Website Pages
, and then clicked on Homepage
. If you’re starting from scratch, you’ll need to choose a template. For this exercise, we selected the Streamline Template—a user-friendly option that allows for easy customization.
Customizing the Look: Setting Up Your Design
With the template in place, our next focus was on design. We dove into customizing the site’s appearance by adjusting colors, fonts, and styles to match our brand. This step is crucial because your homepage needs to be visually appealing and on-brand. We selected a primary color, button color, and headline font that would not only look good but also enhance the overall user experience.
Crafting the First Impression: The Hero Section
Now, it was time to get into the content—starting with the hero section. This is where your visitors will first land, so it needs to be powerful. We created a benefit-driven headline that speaks directly to our target audience. For example, we used, “I empower parents to help anxious children thrive in school activities.” This headline is followed by a clarifying subheading to provide additional context, ensuring visitors immediately understand what we offer.
Next, we uploaded a hero image that resonates with our audience—something that visually represents the success they’re seeking. In this case, it was an image of a child confidently participating in a school activity, setting the tone for the rest of the page.
Addressing the Audience's Pain Points: Identifying Common Problems
After capturing attention with the hero section, we moved on to identifying common problems. Using the “Text with Image” block, we listed out some relatable statements that our audience might be experiencing, such as, “My child is too anxious to join after-school activities.” This section is designed to make visitors feel understood and recognized, increasing their connection to the content.
Painting the Picture of Success: Describing the Ideal Transformation
Once we addressed the problems, we transitioned to the ideal outcome—the transformation our audience is seeking. We used a “Feature” section to outline the benefits of our service. Here, we added images and text to show what success looks like, such as, “Confidently participate in sports, build lifelong skills, and form lasting friendships.” This section helps potential clients visualize the positive changes they can expect.
Guiding the Journey: Creating a Linking Statement
Next, we crafted a linking statement to guide visitors through the journey on our site. This statement connects their dreams to the solution we offer, making it clear that they’re in the right place. It’s a subtle yet powerful way to keep them engaged and moving toward action.
Building Confidence: You Are Not Alone
Understanding the importance of reassurance, we added a confidence-building section. Using another “Text with Image” block, we shared a message that says, “You are not alone. We understand your challenges because we’ve helped countless parents like you.” This is crucial for building trust and making visitors feel comfortable enough to take the next step.
Inviting Action: The Primary Call to Action
At this point, it was time to guide our visitors toward taking action. We created a clear and compelling call to action (CTA) with a button that said, “Schedule a Consult.” The button’s color was made visually distinct to stand out and encourage clicks. This CTA was repeated in several places throughout the page to reinforce the message and increase the likelihood of conversion.
Sharing the Story: The Mission or Dream Statement
To further build trust, we added a section to share our mission. Here, we included a personal image and a story about why we do what we do. This is where you can connect emotionally with your audience, letting them know that your mission is to help them achieve their goals.
Proving Your Credibility: Confidence Builder 2 (Optional)
To add another layer of credibility, we included logos of companies or testimonials from people we’ve worked with in the past. This optional section serves as social proof, reassuring visitors that others have found success with your help.
Answering Questions: The FAQ Section
Next, we addressed common questions in an FAQ section. By preemptively answering potential concerns, we removed barriers that might prevent someone from moving forward. This is a critical part of the page, as it helps clear up any doubts that could be lingering in the visitor’s mind.
Outlining the Path: Simple Steps to Success
We then outlined the simple steps of our process using a “Feature Card” section. By clearly explaining each step, we made it easy for visitors to understand what to expect and how easy it is to get started.
Building Trust: Testimonials
Moving towards the final sections of the homepage, we included testimonials. We used real quotes from satisfied clients to show that others have benefited from our services. Testimonials are a powerful tool to convince hesitant visitors that they can trust you to deliver results.
Capturing Leads: The Secondary Call to Action
Finally, we added a secondary call to action aimed at capturing emails. Whether it’s offering a downloadable checklist or another free resource, this step ensures that even if a visitor isn’t ready to book a consult, you can still stay in touch and nurture the relationship.
Wrapping Up: Testing and Refining
With all the sections in place, we saved our work and took a moment to preview the entire page. It’s essential to test everything—links, buttons, and forms—to ensure they work correctly. Once satisfied, the page was ready to be published.
