PROGRESS NOTES

Good Content Community Thursdays

community social media Jun 22, 2023

One of my favorite things is supporting my friends and promoting their good content. Every week I set aside time to like, share, comment, and rate my friend's podcasts, blogs, and social media content. It's a fun way to give back to those who have supported me.

If you would like to become a part of this group and help promote good content, please join the private Facebook group.

Here is some of the good content I found on social media this week.

Profit First For Therapists

I wrote this post about Profit First For Therapists. I am about halfway through the book now. I have called my bank and started the process to add more accounts. Thank you Julie for your work!

I am listening to the Audiobook "Profit First for Therapists." This line hit me like a ton of bricks "So let's admit that the desire to help others, which led you to a profession in mental health in the first place, might be doing you a disservice when it comes to the financial side of the practice."

As someone who has worked in non-profits as a helper my whole adult life, I often felt guilty when asking for money from people I am trying to serve or help. I have set my prices low, accepted less, and felt like I could not earn the wage my experience and education deserve.

Julie does an amazing job helping me change my mindset that I NEED to be profitable to take care of myself, my employees, and my clients. A dead business doesn't do anyone any good. Oh, and I'm not even a therapist. I just connect with the professional helper aspect.

And this was in the first 15 pages of the book. I am excited to listen to the rest. I just opened my 3 new bank accounts. All it took was a phone call (I had been putting it off for about 2 months now).

Please, run out and get Profit First For Therapists. It could change your life and save your business.

 Private Practice Elevation

In this week’s episode of The Private Practice Elevation Podcast, we discuss imposter syndrome.

Imposter syndrome is that little voice that pops up whenever you dare to do something creative or take bold action toward your dreams.

It’s something we pretty much all deal with.

In this episode, I’m chatting with Ernesto Segismundo about imposter syndrome.

From what it is, and what it feels like, to practical ways you can overcome it.

Listen in now and let us know what you think!

Amy K. Radford Author and Speaker

Hi, I am Amy K Radford, an author, speaker, and educator. I love creatively communicating my passion for God and the art of story. I have found hope in sharing my stories and helping others find ways to share theirs.  I have discovered that creative nonfiction is my favorite genre. I also think that some of the most powerful stories are told simply, so I love writing for children.

Growing up in ministry and serving in various ministry roles for over twenty-five years has given me a passion for encouraging others to walk through the highs and lows of ministry. Living in the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, I serve alongside my favorite pastor, my husband.  My greatest desire has always been to love God in such a way that lives are changed.
